Nick Charles

Hello, I'm Nick Charles, a Michigan native, 11 Year Air Force veteran, PhD student, father, and tattoo artist at Blue Byrd Tattoo. 

 

Interested in American Traditional’s bold lines and colors I am  also intrigued by more macabre black and gray work. Inspired by artists like Freddy Negrete, Jimmy ‘Snaz’ MacKenzie, and Lyle Tuttle, I'm drawn to tattoo culture like a moth to a flame.

 

Also intrigued by old-school motorcycle culture and the raw individuality tattooing represents, I love the freedom it offers to create, to be original, and to grow as a person and artist. 

 

In a craft where authenticity matters and your work speaks louder than words, I found a place where everyone is accepted and creativity is currency and have developed a passion for the process, learning, and a love for the ability to truly be myself.
